Yet another iPhone screen increase post.

I know that we have 1000 posts already about what changes we want in iOS 6 or the new iPhone, and I know we all are tired of arguing back and forth about the same features we want/do not want Apple to introduce. But I don't think I have ever seen a community of people so resistant to change than the Apple community, it's like so many of us do not want the iPhone to get better or to change at all, the 3.5" retina display on the iPhone was unmatched and the bet of its class... 2 years ago, but today with devices like the HTC One X, and Galaxy Nexus, and hell even the developer BB10 device have matched and bested the iPhone in that department. Can anyone give me a good reason as to why a 4" iPhone with a resolution spike would be a bad thing? I see so much arguing against a change that, too me can ONLY be beneficial for the device as a whole.
The best excuses I've seen for not changing the screen is "Apple told me my thumb can't reach the opposite end of the phone." or "Developers will have to re-write apps" or "If you need a bigger screen, pick up an iPad!" Do we not want to see our platform advance? Developers don't usually whine about re-writing an app so it can look better, they have already done it twice with the iPhone 4 and the iPad 3rd gen with no real uproar why why would it be a problem this time? As for the finger excuse, have any of you actually picked up a Motorola Atrix, or Samsung Focus? No you haven't, because if you had you would realize that there is no noticeable strain on your thumb to use it as a daily driver.

If the screen is made a little bigger Apple has more room to incorporate even better innards like a bigger battery to counter the inevitable LTE hog we can get ready to deal with.
This year is a critical for me as an Apple consumer, if the new iPhone doesn't have a new screen will I buy it? Probably, though I would be extremely disappointed, and lustful of all of the other beautiful screens out there that emerge. I love my iPhone 4S too much to go to another platform, but would it really be that terrible to see a decent screen improvement? Can come one give me ONE good reason to shut me up?

As pathetic as it sounds a 2012 iPhone with;

LTE, NFC, 4" LCD panel with a higher resolution, Improved optics, a better CPU & GPU, and a sexy new redesign would make my year. I'm not even going to get into iOS 6....
