The future of Nokia/MS partnership and the Lumia line...

This is completely unsubstatiated but...

I wouldn't be suprised if Nokia becomes the exclusive OEM for WindowsPhone.

In fact, I think it might be a good idea. They can keep Lumia handsets as their flagship line with an annual update a-la iPhone while also releasing their budget models (now also called Lumia, in the future rebranded) and niche form factors (larger screens, physical keyboards etc) as support lines. I think this would be a good idea for Nokia and WP in general. Branding is super important in the modern consumer electronic space...All of the manufacturers and software companies are realizing this. Apple of course is at the forefront having only one handset; but Google has the Nexus line and Nokia with the Lumia...I think it makes sense.

Thoughts tribesfolk?

PS - I'm not implying this is, will, or should be the strategy for Google as Android is an open source platform...I only used Nexus as an example of the importance of branding in marketing and building a userbase/expanding marketshare. I do think, however, that this would be a smart strategy for Nokiasoft.
