Christopher Doyon or Commander X, head of Anonymous offshoot the People's Liberation Front, doesn't think the hacktivist group will be fazed by the arrest of several of its members. In an interview with the National Post, Doyon, who is currently facing 15 years in prison for a "virtual protest" of a municipal website, admits the arrests have had a "chilling effect" but says that the group may still be "the most powerful organization on Earth."
According to Doyon, the increasingly politicized Anonymous is expanding beyond hacking. "Right now we have access to every classified database in the US government," he claims. "We didn’t hack them. The access was given to us by the people who run the systems," IT administrators like Bradley Manning. "Now people are leaking to Anonymous and they’re not coming to us with this document or that document or a CD, they’re coming to us with keys to the kingdom... The world needs to be concerned."
