Lenovo has been rumored to be working on two phones for the Chinese market — the LePhone s899t and s680 — that offer a compelling price-to-performance ratio. The s899t (pictured below) is the more powerful of the two and comes running Android 4.0.3 with a 1GHz dual-core "NovaThor" processor from ST-Ericsson that includes the Mali 400 GPU. It's also rumored to have a 4.5 inch qHD (960 x 540) IPS display and will be available on Chinese carrier China Mobile for 1,299 yuan, or around $206.
The s680 is headed for a different Chinese carrier — China Unicom — and the specs are a bit more pedestrian. It's rumored to have a 480 x 800 display of an unknown size running on a Snapdragon S1 processor (at 800MHz or 1GHz) and a 5-megapixel camera. These specs certainly don't push the envelope, but with Ice Cream Sandwich and a price that is sure to fall below the s899t's, Chinese customers could have some very attractive options.
