Nokia says its 808 PureView handset will start to roll out to select markets in May. Although there's no plans to make the device available in the US, Russia and India will begin selling the 41-megapixel sensor equipped phone in May. The company hasn't provided pricing for the handset, but Italian retailers started taking pre-orders last month at €599 ($785).

The 808 PureView was one of the stars of Mobile World Congress this year, picking up multiple awards thanks to its high-resolution 41-megapixel sensor. Nokia says it's not stopping with its PureView technology and plans to develop it further for its "future smartphones." Symbian fans will be pleased to see the 808 arriving in May, but as Nokia pushes towards Windows Phone in 2012, many will be keen to see PureView make its way to the company's range of Lumia handsets.
