Comcast Xfinity TV Player app brings on-demand streaming to Android
Comcast has launched a new app that brings a long-awaited feature to Android users: streaming. The Xfinity TV Player app — not to be confused with the Xfinity TV app, which essentially serves as a remote for your set-top box — lets subscribers stream on-demand television shows and movies to either a phone or tablet, so long as it's running Android 2.3 or higher. Xfinity TV Player doesn't support AnyPlay, so you can't use it to watch live TV while on your home network. Instead you can stream "thousands of hours" of on-demand content from networks like HBO, Showtime, and Starz, as well as Comcast's Streampix service, provided you're a subscriber — though the company says that there are some licensing issues that have prevented certain episodes and movies from being included. You can grab the app now from the source link below.
