LG Optimus L7 Android 4.0 smartphone launching in Europe today, Asia to follow
The top-specced phone in LG's new L-Style line is set to launch imminently in Europe. Measuring 8.7mm thick and featuring a 4.3-inch WVGA display, the Optimus L7 will be the first LG handset to launch with Ice Cream Sandwich. Despite the fast-approaching release, there are few specs available, but our hands-on preview at MWC revealed a 1GHz processor and 5-megapixel camera inside.
The L7 slots in to the center of LG's 2012 Optimus lineup — it sits between the low-end L-style L3 / L5 handsets and the high-end 4X HD, 3D Max, and gargantuan Vu. LG says that the device will be available in "early May" in major European countries, with an Asian launch due before the end of June. Pricing is unavailable at present, but given the device's less-than-stellar hardware we imagine it'll be priced competitively.
Update: Verge user Jojo has just let us know that the L7 is now available in Germany at €299 off-contract.
