The Motorola Cliq 2 has finally received an upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, nearly 18 months after its launch at CES 2011. Motorola and T-Mobile USA announced the news in a post on the manufacturer's forums this week, adding that the update will bring improved cursor control, stronger battery performance, and a host of other enhancements. Unfortunately, the refresh won't be provided over the air, so users will have to download the Windows-only update software and install it manually.
