Jailbroken iPads getting text editing tweak via SwipeSelection keyboard
Daniel Hooper's prototype design for text editing on the iPad keyboard has been catching a lot of buzz over the past few days, and though it doesn't seem likely that Apple would ever implement the changes, you may be able to try them out for yourself soon enough. Developer Kyle Howells has created SwipeSelection, a modification for jailbroken iPads that includes all the the same gesture-controlled selection techniques. The basic idea is the ability to move the cursor around your text at different speeds by dragging with one or two fingers, and you're also able to select text by applying the shift key. SwipeSelection should have been submitted to the Cydia Store by now, so hopefully we'll see it pop up soon — Howells isn't planning to charge for the tweak.
