Fujifilm XP170: rugged camera with iOS and Android Wi-Fi support coming June for $279.95
Fujifilm's latest entry in its XP series of rugged cameras is also the latest shooter to jump on the Wi-Fi bandwagon. The XP170 works with Fujifilm's Photo Receiver app for Android and iOS to transfer photos directly onto your smartphone and upload them directly to Facebook or Twitter. You can see the app demonstrated in the video below, and it looks functional enough without being the slickest we've ever seen.
Otherwise, it's a pretty standard rugged point-and-shoot that should stand up to your next snowboarding trip just fine — there's a 14-megapixel sensor and a 5x zoom lens (28-140mm equivalent) along with 10 meters of waterproofing, 2 meters of shockproofing, and freeze protection up to minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit). The camera comes in blue or orange and will be out at some point next month for $279.95.
