Forum commenting
Hi Verge,
It's nice to have reasonably informed communities at The Verge (although they are still a touch small). One problem I face with the way a site works is to work whose comment replies to whom for the comments in forum posts. This especially happens if someone leaves a comment, someone replies to it, someone replies to the reply - then you see the level cascade but then if someone replies to the original comment it gets posted after the entire cascading conversation and it's unclear who this new reply is for.
Please think about ways to improve this. A few suggestions I have: 1) leader lines that connect a reply to the original post being replied to, 2) Use of a quote button, 3) A way to collapse conversations of a certain level or 4) A button to show the original post being replied to.
