Looking for help with an electric linear actuator activated doggy door
Hello all fellow DIYers!
To make a long story short, I need to build a doggy door so I don't have to rely on other people to let Penny out a few times a day while I'm not home.
Ultimately, I would like an automatic door that will sense Penny's presence, open and close quickly and securely. I think a standard motion control sensor on either side of the door will suffice and I believe it's something I can install myself.
My problem lies with the device to actually do the opening / closing that stumps me. I have an idea of using an electric linear actuator but I'm not sure how to go about it. It will need to have limit switches and a speed control.
If this is the wrong forum for this project, can someone guide me to an appropriate site, please?
Thanks for looking!
