Macbook battery/charger issues?
Hey guys, I know this isn't on topic with all the new announcements, but I'm hoping someone out there might have some experience here as I know there are common issues with these. I've got an older plastic Macbook (mid 2007 model, C2D 2.16Ghz). that I'm having some strange issues with the power. It's got one of those magsafe adapters that was prone to fraying, it's been replaced once already. Mine never got to the point of fraying, but the pins seemed to not spring back out and it wouldn't charge correctly. The current adapter doesn't show any major signs of problems. The pins look fine at least. The battery is the original, it's never had any problems. It's always held a good charge and been perfectly usable. Very recently though, I'm having problems charging again. It hasn't gotten worse battery life over time or anything, it's gone downhill very quickly (within the last few days). I don't see any bulging, bent pins, or anything obviously physically wrong. The laptop has been pretty well taken care of since new. I'm pretty good to my beloved gadgets. What happens is when I unplug the power cable, OSX will not say the battery is discharging. It'll randomly switch later (it'll say charging for 30 minutes or more while I use it then all of a sudden say it's discharging. The percentage will go down VERY slowly while this happens. When I plug the cable back into charge it back up it won't say it's charging, the light will be blue and give no indications that anything is wrong but obviously something is not right. It's not my main laptop anymore, but it still gets used around the house for random couch duty and stuff. I really like the old plastic Macbooks. :( Anyway, anyone have experience that makes you think there is something wrong with the battery versus the charger? Something else? I'd like to order a replacement, but I'd like to get it right the first time if possible... Thanks... :)
