No Maps for Mountain Lion. Why not?

Apple usually excludes features for certain reasons ,most frequently to push you towards a different product or because they can't deliver the quality of experience they would like. This isn't really the case here. If you think about it, there's really no reason why Maps can't be included on OS X. Current Macs are more than powerful enough to handle the 3D mapping and they aren't going to cannibalise iPad or iPhone sales.

Maps aren't a critical feature on a laptop or desktop but it seems to me like it would be a nice value added feature. Imagine if you could plan a trip on the computer and then 'push' it to the phone the way Google allows in a limited capacity. Can anyone think of why Maps were excluded? Would you like to see it on the Mac?
