Tablet Strategy - If I were Microsoft CEO

If I were Microsoft, I would create a high end WinRT tablet(price range $500-$700) then I would offer it for $200-$300 for pre-orders (limit to 5M units) after pre-order period(for example 2 weeks) the price returns to normal price $500-$700. People will jump on bargains(Do you remember HP WebOS laptops, they were gone in less than 2 hours when they lowered the price). This strategy has several benefits for Microsoft:

1- They suddenly gain market share, so they don't need to spend a lot of money on advertising

2- Because of their Market share, developers will start releasing apps for platform quickly(this way all Metro platforms like X86 PCs, laptops and tablets and also Windows Phone 8 ecosystem will get a boost on number of apps). Then Microsoft don't need to pay developers...

3- Microsoft can sell content like Xbox Music on its tablet and make up for the money that it lost on hardware.

4- Microsoft can lower manufacturing costs because of the Volume...
