Telefónica's Tu Me launched for iOS devices last month, and the carrier's free communications service is now available for Android devices. Not unlike T-Mobile's Bobsled, Tu Me lets you make phone calls, send text messages, and share photos and calendars with other users over data, regardless of carrier — an interesting tactic considering that the service overlaps and competes with the carrier's traditional method of handling voice and text usage. Tu Me is just the first product of Telefónica's Tu branding, which will later include additional services that will also be available for company-owned carriers O2, Movistar, and Vivo. The app can be downloaded for free from the Google Play store.
