A few reminders from the moderation team
Hi all -
I expect that we have (actually, I know we already have) some very heated and contentious conversations going on right now in the wake of the Windows Phone 8 news, especially the upgrade news. A few reminders:
1. Do not personally attack other members in any way, we take a very dim view of this and have a wide interpretation of what constitutes an "attack." Notably, this includes calling people, individually as a group, dumb or trolls.
2. If we need to hide a post because it breaks out guidelines, we will. Note that all posts that responded to that post will also be hidden. This will mean that some great posts and conversation will go down the memory hole.
3. You can help avoid that by NOT RESPONDING to posts that you view as problematic. When we see it, we will remove it and everything that is a response to it. Instead, you should flag the post and move on. If you feel something requires urgent attention, you can email us at moderators@theverge.com
4. We're still a very small moderator team and so will be doing our best to keep up, but please help us and the entire community out by following our Community Guidelines and these reminders here.
