Customization in Windows Phone 8
First off, in the Verge video showing WP 7.8 running on a Lumia 900, the Nokia spokesperson mentions a greater abundance of "colors and themes" [Link, roughly 1:01]. Does this mean that we will see a choice of background color? Or the more nitty-gritty custom themes enabled through hacking? Which brings us to the second aspect of customization - hacking.
Will the new kernel expose more features to the hacking community? I am not an expert by any means, but might we not see greater interplay between hacking on desktop Windows and Windows Phone? Moreover the access to native code implies greater root access, will the already formidable hack-o-sphere from Windows Phone 7, flourish on Windows Phone 8?
