Which laptop should I buy?
I've looked at all of the laptops with Ivy bridge and so far I've found 3 laptops that I like:
Sony vaio z
Mbp retina
Asus Zenbook 1080p display ultrabook
I know the first two can somewhat replace a desktop computer, whereas the Zenbook is cheaper and therefore enabling me to buy a desktop.
I've listed some pros and cons for each computer here:
cons
Vaio z:
- bad keybaord
- bad speakers
- bad customer service from sony (at least from what I've read)
- mediocre gpu in the dock
- Dock makes it less portable
- Outdated dock - it may be better to wait for a refresh of the dock before purchasing
Mbp retina:
- Not as portable as the Z
- Can't play most games at native resolution and full graphics
- Will make people consider me an iSheep
Zenbook + desktop
- No portable graphics 'juice'
- Not as exclusive as the Z
Pros:
Vaio Z
- Great screen
- Very portable
- Striking design (I like z's design better than its two competitors)
- possibility of about 10 hours of battery with the sheet-battery
Mbp retina
- Best screen on the market
- Great keyboard and trackpad
- Though not as portable as the vaio z, its 'juice' comes in a single package, meaning I'll have it everywhere I go.
- Great design
Zenbook + desktop
- 1080p ips display
- portable like the z
- possibility of more 'juice' in this setup
- Good keyboard
So please help me out: Are my assumptions about the products correct or should they be revised? Or do you think I should consider another product than the ones listed? I know the mba is compelling for many, but I don't like the fact that there are so many people having it (Yes I like to think of myself as unique :)
Anyway, I'll greatly appreciate if anyone could come with some advice :)
Thanks in advance, Danishdude :)
