Windows phone fans are some of the most entitled in this industry.
It started in April when The verge posted an article ( a true one, we know now) that stated a rumor for the upcoming windows phone upgrade. The rumor stated no current devices would get the next version of windows phone, windows phone 8. This started a huge riot of windows phone users accusing the verge as wrong and trying to get some clicks from reactions this would cause. Later some other sources told the verge that a minor upgrade would be coming instead, and of course they reported that. This set of a storm of Android users pointing out wp and laughing as loyal customers were in the cold, and of course this upset the microsoft fans even more. All of this doesn't amount to much though, this happens everyday on the internet. I even admit I thought the verge was just spitting out rumors with no context or justification on why they thought it was true. Of course we all know the verge was right, and that very thing is happening now. Not much before that the microsoft followers racked up 2400 comments on the Lumia 900 review claiming the verge posted a score of a 7 just to flame the userbase and get more attention. Some said even the verge loved the phone, but gave it a 7 for lolz. We all know this, move on.

Fast forward to one day after the windows phone 8 announcement and windows phone fans are at it again, cementing their reputation as being entitled babies. Every major phone OS has cut features for old phones and ported it to said devices, but the other OS makers name the new cut down upgrade the same thing that the new phones get. I remember I had my MyTouch 3g back in 2009, and waited for the Froyo update that was named android 2.2. But in reality it was Froyo with no live wallpaper support and a list of other features such as optimized Flash in the default browser. Point is, my MyTouch RECIEVED froyo, just without some of the features my phone couldn't handle. Guess how android fans that owned my phone reacted? They blew it off and were happy "TMobile didn't abandon them." I clearly remember that.

So what happens when that exact scenario happens over here in the windows phone camp (New OS for old phones with some features stripped for hardware reasons). What happens is what I am seeing on the boards right now: "Someone at microsoft needs to be fired." "Whatever Belfiore is smoking, it's going to burn the company." I went to reddit, and the same stuff there. What I want to know is why do you insist to make us look bad, there are plenty of us that are grateful MS is giving us that cool new start screen. Don't hold back the OS because you feel left out for a few months. You bought a phone today because you liked what it does, don't throw up your arms because your phone suddenly doesn't have 2 cores in the fall. I honestly think Microsoft should have called this feature upgrade windows phone 8 instead of 7.8. It's just a number, stop whining.
