Last month Acer started taking pre-orders for its Iconia Tab A700, and today the tablets are finally starting to ship. You can grab the 10.1-inch device directly from Acer in either black or silver, and both options will run you $449.99, though overnight shipping is free. The A700 is very similar to Acer's Iconia Tab A510 — which we reviewed not long ago — with the same 1.3GHz Tegra 3 processor, 32GB of flash storage, all running Android 4.0. The big difference, though, is the higher resolution display, which has a 1920 x 1200 screen and 178-degree viewing angles. Because the A700 and A510 also include the same battery, this also means you might get slightly less battery life — ten hours as opposed to 12 for video playback, for example — but at the same price point the A700 looks like a solid upgrade.
