the next web reports RT starts @ $599, Pro's start at $999

Today, a source close to Microsoft has provided us with corroboration of rumored Microsoft Surface pricing, putting the Tegra 3 powered RT model at $599 retail and the Ivy Bridge packing Windows 8 Pro model at $999 retail.
This puts the RT as a Direct competitor to the iPad, and the Pro as a direct competitor to the Air. This changes the windows 8 landscape in my eyes by quite a bit. Take also into consideration the bloomberg report that the wifi only would be the debut model and the picture gets clearer still.
