Good Ads for Terrible Products
You rarely see an ad on The Verge for a product that someone whose tech savvy would ever willingly choose to use. All though the ads on the site for IE 9 and Blackberry are pretty, they're not particularly good products.
The dilemma I'm having is that I can't decide whether this is a good or a bad thing. If the ads were for products that The Verge staff are known for endorsing (Galaxy Nexus, MacBook Air) there integrity would constantly be attacked by vulgar fanboys and we'd never hear the end of it.
The only thing is, RIM products suck. If someone buys a Blackberry because they see an ad on The Verge saying that they "need tools, not toys" that is a tragedy.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
