Google Earth for Android gets detailed 3D cities in version 7.0
Just in case you didn't get enough Google news from the company's I/O event, today the Android version of Google Earth has been updated to support the new detailed 3D maps feature that was unveiled earlier this month. Version 7.0 of the app lets you view cities in 3D, and there's also a new "tour guide" feature so that you can explore famous landmarks in full three dimensions — though we did find the maps to be a bit sluggish during our brief time with it. At present the app only supports a few cities for 3D, but Google has previously said that a "very large number" will be added before the end of the year. There's no word yet on when iOS users can expect to see these changes, but Android users can grab the updated version now from the source link below.
