Apple's Podcasts app shows design influence from Braun TG 60
Released on Tuesday, the design of Apple's new Podcasts app has struck a chord with some, and Cult of Mac has found a reason why. It appears that the app's Now Playing interface is heavily influenced by the classic Braun TG 60 reel-to-reel tape recorder, crafted by industrial design legend Dieter Rams in the early '60s.
When you put the two side by side, it's difficult to deny the resemblance. And, as Cult of Mac points out, it's not all that surprising either — Apple designers, including Jony Ive himself, have a reputation for taking inspiration from Braun, with the iPod, Mac Pro and iMac G4 all showing definite signs of influence.
