At today's E3 2012 keynote, Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi announced that 35 new providers will be bringing content to the Xbox 360 this year, with a big emphasis on video. "Over the next year we plan to double the content you can find on Xbox," he said. The new providers include Paramount, Nickelodeon, Machinima, and Univision, along with a number of new ways to watch sports on your console. Chief among them is a new WatchESPN app that will include live video from ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN 3, and ESPN U. Meanwhile, a new NHL Game Center app will feature 40 live games to watch each week, and the NBA Game Time app with League Pass will offer over 2,400 live games. While some of the content will be available worldwide, some is region specific — ESPN, Nickelodeon, and Paramount will only be available in the US, for instance. All of the new providers are expected to launch within the next 12 months and you can see the complete list here.
