Want to see what Windows 8 derivative Windows RT looks like on a ARM-based tablet? Here's your best opportunity yet: Qualcomm loaded the OS onto its dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Liquid Development Tablet at Computex 2012 in Taipei, and we just took it for a spin. See us page through the basic Metro interface, a full-screen session of the game Vendetta Online, take a look at the weather in Taipei, pair applications side by side, swing by the classic Windows Desktop to prove that this is truly running on ARM-based hardware, and even visit one of our favorite websites. Qualcomm was adamant that the system hadn't been fully optimized yet, and that statement rang true given the difficulty we had doing some bezel gestures, not to mention some memory management (open apps kept vanishing) and rendering issues here and there, but it's plenty neat to see this stuff running even at this early stage.
