The pedometer will communicate with the Wii U via infrared, merging its data with that from the game. No official name or release date were announced.
At the end of Nintendo's E3 press briefing today, Nintendo head Satoru Iwata revealed a piece of software called Wii U Panorama View that makes the Wii U controller into a virtual reality headset, sort of. Nintendo filmed video footage of real world locations, and stitched it together so Wii U owners can move the screen controller around to watch from whatever angle they desire. It's a way of looking at video footage as if you're in the video while it's playing, basically, similar to...

Viewed side-by-side with its prototype predecessor, the sleeker retail version of the Wii U's GamePad may look like a device subtly changed.
But those minor tweaks to the touchscreen-sporting controller add up.
The version that will ship with the diminutive console has vastly improved thumbsticks that can also be pressed in to serve as buttons, a sleeker body, and molded grips.
Perhaps the most significant change to the Wii U's controller, though, is that gamers will be able to use two of...

Nintendo shared a handful of its "23 games" coming to Wii U this year in a short video montage. One of those games was – surprise! – Mass Effect 3. Its sequel, Mass Effect 2, was released first on Xbox 360 and PC and later came to PlayStation 3. And the conclusion to the series, this year's Mass Effect 3, came to both Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 all at once.
And now, with the...
