Six months later, OnLive's native iOS client is still awaiting iTunes approval
Six months after it was originally announced, OnLive's native iOS client is still awaiting iTunes approval, according to CEO Steve Perlman. The app, which enables users to stream PC quality games to tablets and smartphones with touchscreen and wireless gamepad controls, was first made available on Android in early December with an iOS version to follow shortly thereafter. Speaking to The Verge this week at E3, Perlman confirmed that the iOS version of the app is complete and has been submitted to Apple but has yet to be approved for release on iTunes. Though many believe the service's game sales function was to blame, OnLive submitted the app with the feature disabled to avoid Apple's in-app purchasing policies. Unfortunately, Perlman was unable to provide insight into the true cause for the delay but assured that the iOS client is, in fact, coming.
