'Community' fan creates playable 'Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne' video game
To celebrate the grand finale of NBC show Community's third season, three episodes were shown on the same night. The first of the trio, Digital Estate Planning, threw the Greendale Community College students into a 16-bit video game called Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne, and Reddit user Derferman has taken it upon himself to recreate the game from the ground up. Currently in version 0.0.12b, the 2D side-scroller features a roster of playable characters, music, sound effects, a couple of stages, and running and jumping mechanics. OS X, Windows, and Linux users can download the free game now, but considering that just about everything within it is licensed property, curious gamers may want to pick it up before NBC's legal team makes its rounds.
