Motorola announces RAZR V for Canada and Motosmart for UK
Motorola announced the launch of two new phones today, the RAZR V and the Motosmart. The RAZR V will launch sometime in the third quarter in Canada on a number of carriers, but there's no word yet on pricing. The phone's base specs look a lot like Samsung's Galaxy S II, with a 4.3-inch display, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, and an 8-megapixel camera. The device will ship with Android 4.0 and uses on-screen navigation buttons rather than the built-in buttons we've seen on RAZR phones in the past.
The Motosmart will launch on T-Mobile in the UK and is very clearly aimed at first-time smartphone users. The 3.5-inch display, 3-megapixel camera, and the fact that it's still running Gingerbread squarely puts it in the low-end bracket. At least the pricing reflects the quality — the Motosmart is free on a £7 per month two-year contract and will ship at the end of July.
