What happened to the Dell Smoke?
eons and eons ago there was a leaked roadmap from dell, which showed the Venue Pro, the Venue,a device called the Flash and finally, the one i liked ,the Smoke
the smoke was a Portrait QWERTY enabled android smartphone ,and,at the time, had pretty respectable specs an 800Mhz Second Gen Snapdragon (think HTC Desire Z) a 5MP autofocus camera (probably better than the Galaxy Nexus) HSPA+ 14.4Mbps (T-Mobile US would call that 4G) and many more, now i would buy that phone if it was ever released, but after seeing this http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/10/3137152/this-is-my-next-android-portrait-qwerty-device-if-sony-would-make-it
there are a few things that i would improve upon, first , the paltry 2.8" QVGA screen, increased to a 3.2" WVGA (which in turn would widen the device, but in fact that looks like it would help instead of hinder this device because as it is, it isnt very wide) the Antiquated Android 2.2 Froyo Platform would be replaced with either Android 4.0.4 ICS or 4.1 Jellybean (with Onscreen buttons as there is an absence of physical or capacitive ones on the device itself) the CPU would be updated to the Exynos 4210 (same CPU as the Galaxy S II) with the new Mali-400MP GPU (same GPU as the galaxy S III) i'd add NFC , beef the battery up to 1750mAh though i'd use the newer version of Lithium-Ion used in the Optimus 4X HD for prolonged life, i'd attempt to keep the thickness the same at 10.5mm which, isnt actually that bad for a device with a QWERTY keyboard.
So tell me guys, would you buy this device if it was made available to the general public? and what alterations would you make to my design choices?
