Boot on SSD; Store on HDD
Have you been thinking about local data storage? I have!
After switching to SSD's for the boot drives in my primary desktop and primary laptop, I have been thoroughly impressed by the performance increase.

SSD's are great for boot drives: back them up too, they are known to randomly fail.
Bulk storage of media is better suited to HDD's.
Take some time to get informed before investing in your local storage: you can realize radical improvements in performance while still keeping a reasonable budget!
