Facebook version 1.97 for Android is here, and it comes with the usual array of minor interface tweaks and bug fixes. One feature of note, however, is that you're now able to take and upload photos using your device's front-facing camera. It's difficult to believe this feature wasn't here in the first place — how else would Android users pose for their profile pics? — but it likely stems from Facebook's non-standard use of the Android camera. The interface simply didn't have a button to switch between lenses until now, though Facebook recently saw fit to add (and subsequently remove) a dedicated homescreen shortcut for photo uploads. Regardless, the issue is sorted now, as long as your device isn't too old — version 1.97 of the app will only run on Android 2.2 (Froyo) and up.
