90 Seconds on The Verge: Friday, July 20th, 2012
On most Fridays, the tech news cycle tends to slow down a bit. We at the office can take turns relaxing and watching a marathon of the incredible Spider-Man cartoon from 1967 (highly recommended, by the way). Not today. Google acquired Sparrow, DirecTV and Viacom made nice, and Canon looks poised to be on the cusp of entering the mirrorless camera market. All this and more as told by one of the latest additions to The Verge family, Adrianne Jeffries.
Stories of the day:
- Google's Sparrow acquisition: bringing 'beauty' to Gmail
- Viacom will receive over $600 million annually as part of new DirecTV deal, says Bloomberg
- Canon EOS M mirrorless camera revealed in leaked photos
