Apple reportedly planning 'all-new' iPod touch and iPod nano models
Alongside a rumored new iPhone, expected later this year, Apple also appears to be readying new iPod models. MacRumors cites KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, known for accurate Apple information, who has issued a new report on Apple's release plans. Described as "all-new," the upcoming iPod touch model is said to match rumors of the next-generation iPhone with the addition of in-cell display technology. A separate report from Macotakara, spotted by 9to5Mac, indicates the new touch could also include a taller 4-inch display and A5 processor with a rear-shell that is similar to the iPad.
Kuo notes the introduction of a new iPod nano, but doesn't offer any hints at the technology involved. Previous rumors have suggested that Apple may return to the vertical and tall iPod nano design with a home button included and thinner profile. Kuo does note that shipments of the new iPod touch may be limited due to the use of in-cell panels, but there's no mention of potential launch dates for a new iPod touch or nano.
