AT&T announced today that its LG Nitro HD will finally get Android 4.0 and a new UI skin, Optimus 3.0. We reviewed the Nitro HD when it launched back in December, and were impressed by the phone's overall performance, but significantly less enthused by the phone's lack of Ice Cream Sandwich and the ugly Optimus 2.0 skin. Both of these issues are finally being addressed, albeit nearly eight months after the phone's launch. Although the update won't initially be available over-the-air, it can be downloaded from the LG website starting next Tuesday, July 31st — and based on what we saw on the Optimus 4X HD, you should go get it as soon as possible.
