Being part of the Nexus program has its perks — one of which is that Google provides factory images allowing advanced users to return their phones back to out-of-box condition. It may have taken a few weeks, but the stock, Android 4.1.1 images for the GSM Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S are now available for download. That's good news for Android enthusiasts who like to flash all manner of custom ROMs and kernels, as it allows them to easily go back to stock should they modify a bit too hard. You can also use the images to upgrade to Jelly Bean if you've yet to receive the update over the air, but, unfortunately, the images are not yet available for the Verizon Wireless Galaxy Nexus, Sprint Galaxy Nexus, or Nexus S 4G. No word on when Google will release the factory images for those devices, but often the delay is due to the different radios each of these devices have from the "standard" GSM versions. If you previously downloaded the Android 4.1 image for the Nexus 7, 4.1.1 is now available for download, too.
