Nikon D4 firmware update prevents freezing while formatting, other bugs
Nikon's popular D4 DSLR camera has received a firmware update today, fixing a number of bugs which were left unpatched in the last release. Version 1.02 of the firmware also adds a few new features, including an option to make it easier to format memory cards and tweaks to make Adobe RGB images display more vividly on the preview screen.
Nikon has identified three main bugs in the previous version: one which caused focus points to be displayed incorrectly, another which caused the camera to freeze while formatting cards and a third which mistakenly applied the minimum aperture setting while recording video. These have all been patched, and better support for FTP networking has been added, helping to avoid dropped connections.
Firmware version 1.02 can be downloaded in both Windows and Mac OS X versions from Nikon's site.
