PC Gamers and Pirating Games
To quote Russ Pitts from his article (http://www.theverge.com/gaming/2012/7/2/3125866/the-state-of-games-state-of-aaa) "Multiple sources speaking anonymously have pegged the PC game piracy rate at close to 90%, meaning only 10% of the people playing AAA games in the PC platform have actually paid for it."
This number seems outrageously high to me, and I want to know what the Polygon community thinks.
Personally, I haven't pirated a game in years mainly because I am old enough and work enough to afford purchasing games. Similarly, the presence of Steam sales or sales on Amazon make it even easier to purchase AAA games at a tremendous discount. In fact, I almost always wait for games to go on sale now before I purchase them besides a few that either don't go on sale or I enjoy far too much to wait (aka StarCraft).
So, what do you think of that number? Only 1 in 10 PC gamers will actually pay for a AAA game. Are you that 10% or do you fall in to that 90%.
