What Are the 5 Nexii in the Fall Going to Be?
Assuming this rumor is true, there are going to be 5 nexus devices released later this year as part of the Key Lime Pie release, which marks the fifth year of Android. We have yet to know if this rumor is true, but assuming it is true, there are a few questions to be asked:
1. Is the Nexus 7 one of the five?
I don't think so. I think Google is more likely to be releasing their tablets during IO for one of the two Android releases a year, and their phones during the fall with the other Android release.
2. So are any tablets going to be released this fall?
If I'm right on the last one, then no. They may, however, release 3 or 5 tablets next year during IO.
3. What are the 5 devices going to be?
They would probably want to start at the low end, $200 off contract. Then I think one device would be at $300 and the rest at $400. The major OEMs to pick from would be:
If I were Google I'd probably pick either Huawei or LG to make the lower end one. This would probably be a 4 inch Tegra 2 device with mediocre resolution and 5 or 8 megapixel cameras. If it were made by LG it would probably be just a G2X with Key Lime Pie.
The next tier would be handled by Sony or Asus. A 4.3 inch Tegra 3 with a screen that is probably around 250 ppi (sorry, I'm too lazy to do the math on the actual resolution). Camera would be 8 megapixel and 1.3 on the front.
The premium tier would consist of three devices, done by HTC, Motorola, and the third to be duked out between Samsung and Asus. The three would all be 4.7 to 5.3, and with resolutions breaking the 300 ppi mark. The processers would be the best there is a few months from now, and cameras to be anything from 8 to 12 megapixels (probably 8).
What are your suggestions?
