Got Battlefield 3 for PC? Help me record a machinima!
Hey once again guys!
A few months ago I started listening to different kinds of music for inspiration and a picture of a Battlefield 3 machinima started drawing inside my head. Watching "The One" helped me make the last step and finally go try and record it, finalizing my thoughts on the script. About a month ago I captured some material alone, then with a friend of mine, then with guys from my team (which, sadly, didn't turn out well, it looks like using in-game text chat is way easier than TeamSpeak for this kind of thing for some reason). After that not-so-successful attempt I got a bit depressed and didn't do anything for the last month. Tried asking people here and there but everyone was busy at different time making it hard to organize anything. Then my friend's server I used died and he said that they weren't going to renew the subscription for some time, long story short - nothing worked.
Now, I finally bought an extra TB HDD I use exclusively for recording purposes. I have an idea in my head. I bought my own 16p server. All I need is you people.
So, here is the deal:
I need actors to help me make it all happen. I don't want to tell too much about it, but it's happening on Operation Metro, main "stars" are RU squad of 5 soldiers. They basically storm the whole map from start to end, using Rush to record. That's also a bit hard to do since on Rush US are the ones attacking and they got all the audio for it, but that's my problem. For most scenes 4 people would work, but some need more, even with clever editing. At most it'll be best to have 16p, but that's for the latest scene, so if I ever manage to get that far I think finding enough for it won't be a problem. Talking about time, I'm not sure about some shots because they are only in my head so it can take a while to get things "right" in the game, so don't expect me to capture everything in a few minutes, might take a while. But if I could have 4 people willing to help with at least an hour of available time, I could record A LOT. So any amount of time will do, but something closer to an hour is preferable. Also, keep in mind that it'll take me a few sessions to record it all anyway, and probably lots of hours of recording and even more of editing later, but anything needs a start right?
All you need is a PC with BF3 and a bit of time. Being able to record game on Ultra settings in 1080p is a plus, but I can manage it all myself. You probably need to be in Europe or somewhere where you have nice ping on servers in Germany, where my host is based.
Thank you for your attention. Maybe you got a friend who can do such kind of thing, and you can just tell him, that would be great. My Battlelog ID is "Big3Daddy", or here's my Battlelog profile. Do post here first though, or at least mention it there. Hard to remember who's who with 100+ friends and changeable nicknames.
That's about it. Also, I'm sorry if I made any mistakes, this is not my first language, I'm Russian living in Moscow.
