Help me figure out whats wrong with my gaming PC?
Hey guys, I wasn't sure of where to post this question, but since it's my gaming PC and I mainly read the gaming portion of this site, I though I'd try here. I built this PC about a year ago and it's been fine ever since. I think it's just a problem with windows. When I started it up, it would freeze on the please wait/welcome screen every time. I went into safe mode and disabled everything except necessary windows services. It sometimes doesn't even get to that screen anymore now. Now it gets to a black screen where i can move my cursor, but then the cursor goes away and its black screen forever. I've tried, several times, using the repair tools windows 7 provides, but it never works. I've also restored windows as far back as June 18th, but still nothing.
I dont understand! I thought it would at least start up without loading anything but essential windows programs. I'm thinking maybe windows was updating or something while I didn't know it, and when the power was lost due to recent storms, it messed up my pc.
