If you were excited to hear about Hulu Plus on Apple TV only to be reminded that it’s unavailable in your corner of the globe, we have good news. The Next Web reports that signing up for a US iTunes account and charging it with US iTunes cards will allow you to use the service from anywhere in the world. Since the monthly $7.99 fee for Hulu Plus on Apple TV is billed through iTunes directly, as far as the folks at Hulu are concerned you’re just another American watching The Walking Dead. And since Netflix recently began offering through-iTunes billing, the same approach should work for that service as well. There’s always the possibility Apple will clamp down in the future, but until then, the workaround is a lot simpler than setting up a proxy server just to catch Community.

Update: This story contained a factual error. Setting your iTunes store region to the US and adding US iTunes credit alone won't be enough to enable access to Hulu Plus. Without a VPN or some other means of disguising your location and a US credit card, users outside of the US will be unable to access Hulu Plus through Apple TV.
