Shadow of Colossus and its Meaning

I finally beat Shadow of Colossus last night for the first time. I had to play the final boss twice only because I hit the start button during the cut scene afterwards, but it was well worth it since it is a very well executed boss. The question I had for everyone is what do they think the meaning of the game was all about? I understand what happened, but I would love to see what everyone else thought about the game itself. The game has moved to the top of my favorite games of all time list (not number 1, but easily in the top 20).
