Is the Cyborg R.A.T. 9 worth it?

I'm about to move into a new apartment and with it I'll be setting up a desk, dusting off my old 19" viewsonic, and using my MBP in a desktop setting for the first time in a while. This has made me start looking at a nice keyboard and mouse to invest in.

For a keyboard I'm between a Filco Magestouch-2 tenkeyless and a KBT Pure. But for a mouse I'm substantially more lost. I've been considering a Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T. 9 because...

  • It can be sized to be a large comfortable mouse
  • It's wireless
  • It's an attractive design
I am not a gamer (except for a few healthy minecraft binges every now and then), and I'm a programmer who spends most of his time in a terminal using Vim or in Chrome. I was just wondering what your experiences with it on OSX might be and if you have better suggestions.
PS: I want real buttons, track pads and magic mice don't satisfy my fingers.
