Well, It looks like Microsoft (finally) got their shit together
Microsoft in the past few months has impressed everyone(apple fans dont tell me your not even interested in the new surface tablet). It all started with the consumer preview of windows 8. Which I will admit has gotten mixed reviews, but I think if you sit down and work at it for an hour youll learn to appreciate the new Metro/modern start screen. Then Windows phone 8 with a little help from Nokia. I dont own one but according to reviews it is an amazing OS and smartphone. I see alot of potential for Windows phone 8, especially if youve watched the keynote. With new hardware being supported along with a slew of new features including NFC, wallet, and microsoft office 15. The biggest surprise and the one I thik most people are excited about is Microsofts own tablet the surface. It astonished the tech world when it was revealed on June 20 and has been getting press ever since. It was a great idea to include a kickstand and an even better to combine the case and keyboard (which is nowing being copied by several android tablet makers). On a lesser note Microsoft Office 15 had its keynote and looks amazing with the metro layout. Its also added some new features in word, powerpoint, excel, onenote and outlook. Not to mention their Office 365 subscription based serice. Word has been given the ability for PDfs and features a new reading mode. Excel has made it easier for longspread sheets. ANd onenote has been reinvented for touch interface. Then just 2 weeks ago they released their new email client outlook.com. It has gotten rave reviews and is finally a competitor to yahoo and gmail. Its also intergrated with facebook, linkin, skype and office apps. Office apps is word, excel and powerpoint for the web. Just today their skydrive client has been updated to make it the best consumer cloud service out there. THey also acquired perceptive pixel which should help its old surface table get off the ground. If you havent seen it I suggest you check it out, they recently changed the name to pixelsense. This year seems to be the year of Microsoft. Its been slow to get into the game but look what its come out with in that time. Metro is certainly a new face in the mobile crowd where its dominated by IOS and Android icons. Its finally integrating all its products together and creating a unique windows experience. But well all find out on October 26th.
