The Switch

So here's the deal everyone. I'm considering ditching my Core i5 laptop and replacing it's every day use with a tablet. I mostly use my Xbox for gaming, so as far as that goes it won't be a problem. On a regular day my laptop stays mounted to the desk due to the plethora of wires connected to it, so I know on a tablet I won't have this problem. Basically I need a second opinion on whether my tablet will be able to handle everything I do on a laptop (Reports, browsing, business stuff), and also which tablets I should consider for replacing it. I was thinking about a Nexus 7, but it is a bit on the small side. Yet the Galaxy tab is a bit too much to dish out on a mobile computing device. It would be appreciated if you guys could give me a few suggestions and let me know if it would be a viable option to switch. I do have a desktop by the way if I really needed to use a PC for some reason.

Edit: I could also wait for the Surface, or any other Windows tablet since I'm sure they will be equally as functional... if not more.
