Why do the lock screen images look so crummy on my radar?

I make triangles a lot of the time, it's a really good way to make a wallpaper with the specific colors I want, and recently I thought some of my triangle wallpapers would fit nicely as a lock screen on my Winpho.Well, I size them usually at 2200 by 2200, so I have more freedom to use the image on something larger than a 1080p display in the future (yes, I am strange). Well, when I ported over my rather large, clean edged wallpapers to my phone, and applied it to my lock image, they look overly fuzzy. Even on my little 3.8 inch radar 4g screen, it doesn't look sharp edged at all, and I don't know if the phone actually downscales the image when I sync it over or what. You guys know why images aren't clear on this thing? The screen is great, so it's a pretty big bummer for me. Much appreciated.
