Your favourite Windows 8 (Modern) App(s)

After running Windows 8 for a while I noticed that for Metro(/Modern, who cares) to become successful the apps really need to blow people away especially on Windows RT. They should foremost be functional but the aesthetics of the App should be fairly good designed.

My favourite app(s) are Bing/Bing Weather and Sports for their beautiful design, functionality and simplicity. Bing Weathers does what it is supposed to and in a beautifully designed way. Bing Sports just surprised me when I typed in my favourite teams and it tracked them form+ function.

I love how the Sports app shows everything about your favourite league/teams in an way where you don't have to search. its right infront of you. The only way I wish Microsoft could improve these Bing apps is to implemant the Kinect Voice system where you call your device and speak your command.

"Computer "search/bing" LeBron James or "Computer" "search/bing" Batman: Begins and it would then go fetch the information for you and put it on screen for you, if its a film you could then request it to rent it for you. This would be awesome add for people who have a PC in the living room that want to use it as a media center. With all the new SMART TV's coming out I think Microsoft should partner with Samsung etc. to implement some sort of wireless screen sharing, you could just dock your little tablet under your TV and stream content off it as it would listen to your voice commands.

If Microsoft can get itself together to bring this together I believe there are a lot of developers out there who can match it. I hope Windows RT will be a succes which it could be, now developers have a easy way to bring their apps to people who want to pay for it in one place.

From the third party apps, my favourite would be the Sky-news app, editorial and video in one very nice. They just need to find a better grid for their initial page.
